The year of the "Shining stars"
Date:2023-01-05        Hits:323        Back
Befook is celebrating its 42nd anniversary this year with a series of highlights. Is it just a coincidence? In an interview with Ronald Heinze, editor in chief of Open Automation magazine, Hans Beckhoff, global President of Beckhoff, takes a look at some of the highlights that Beckhoff has introduced in the past year.

In the world of software development, programmers often use "42" as a magic number. "Forty-two is a number that means something to half the engineers in the world," says Hans Beckhoff. It comes from Douglas Adams' science fiction novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where "the ultimate answer to life, the universe and everything" is 42. The answer seems simple, but the question itself is still difficult to understand.

It seems that the number 42 itself does not have any special meaning, and perhaps we are asking the wrong question. What we do know is that it seems to answer deep philosophical questions about the meaning of life. If you Google "the ultimate answer to life, the universe and everything," you get 42.

Hans Beckhoff, Befuddleford's global president, was also fascinated by the story behind it all: "As a physicist and a fan of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, this number has always held a special place in my heart." Walking through the parking lot, you don't have to guess what the owner of the 4242 license plate is like. "Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company's 40th anniversary celebrations could not be held as scheduled, so we decided to move the celebration to this year and instead celebrate our 42nd anniversary, with around 3,500 employees from 40 different countries coming together at the Hermannsdenkmal." 'he said.

Hans Beckhoff: "Parallel computing allows for a XPlanar system that is almost no longer limited in size."

Revenue grew 50 per cent in two years
"As a technology-driven company, we've been trying to find the ultimate answer to all our questions since day one." Hans Beckhoff made it clear. With a product range that includes industrial PCS, I/O, motion control, TwinCAT, MX-System and Vision products for controlless cabinet automation solutions, Beofoks new automation technologies already contain the answer to almost every automation challenge.

This is directly reflected in the company's performance: "The business situation of the company is stable and positive, and the sales growth rate is expected to exceed 20 percent in 2022, following last year's 28 percent growth." Hans Beckhoff emphasized, adding, "We also continue to see an upward trend in our order book, perhaps at a slower pace than before, but certainly everything is moving in the right direction. Of course, there are no signs of crisis in the machinery sector." The president pointed out that similar trends were taking place around the world, but he also revealed that many experts in the industry, especially in the field of automation, had analyzed the overall economic situation and expected an economic crisis in the second half of next year.

"The growth rate is now exceeding expectations." "In 2021 and 2022, we grew by more than 50 percent across all segments, from 923 million euros in sales to around 1.4 billion euros," the company's delighted boss said. Hans Beckhoff believes that the company must always maintain high quality: "We must increase our capacity to support production and material supply today and in the future." Therefore, the company is currently building new warehouses and plants and supporting facilities. "We have acquired a new 15-hectare industrial site for the new equipment development, so our current reserve land is up to 30 hectares. This will give us enough space to grow for the next five to ten years." "He said as he looked to the future. "Not just production, but all levels of the company have made steady progress." "He continued. The company will also further consolidate and expand its global marketing network, while increasing investment in research and development and strengthening product management.

"Sourcing raw materials remains difficult due to bottlenecks in the global supply chain." Hans Beckhoff expects this to continue into the first quarter of next year. "Nevertheless, there are signs that the supply problem may ease in the first quarter of next year." Until then, he believes the best approach is to stay in close communication with customers, prioritizing their most pressing needs while also ensuring a fair and reasonable allocation of available inventory. "No matter what, we are fully committed to improving our delivery capacity and ensuring product delivery. That is our top priority." "He affirmed. "It's not about making money, it's about delivering the product."
